Nancy Jackson
Onward!

January 17 - February 16, 2008

We will exhibit several small paintings and a sculpture in the second gallery in Jackson's first New York solo exhibition. The subject of the works is nature, landscape and close up, with gouache paintings and a sculpture rendered with infinite delicacy and care. There is a spiritual or even visionary quality to her style linking it to a Victorian sensibility.

Jackson has exhibited extensively in Los Angeles where she lives, with four solo shows with the Rosamund Felsen Gallery and numerous group shows. She has been advocated by LA based critic and curator Michael Duncan, who included her in "LA Post Cool" at the San Jose Museum of Art in 2002. In Fall 2004 the Drawing Center in New York featured her in their selections show entitled "Talespinning".
